Introduction: Fortress was listed on 22 October 2009 on the main board of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange Limited as a property loan stock company. It listed with an initial market capitalisation of R1.8 billion, making it the largest initial listing in the listed property sector. Fortress converted to a Real Estate Investment Trust REIT on 1 July 2013.


Fortress is a hybrid fund, investing in both direct property as well as other listed property stocks and REITs. It focusses on the development of prime real estate logistics assets as well as investments into its retail portfolio. Currently Fortress portfolio includes industrial, logistics, office, retail and other properties.

Section 10: Guide on how to use the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (“the PAI Act”) Section 51(1)(b), as amended by Section 110 of the Protection of Personal Information Act no 4 of 2013 (“the POPI Act)
The Guide referred to in Section 10 of the PAI Act is a guide that must be compiled by the Human Rights Commission containing such information as may be reasonably required by a person who wishes to exercise any right contemplated in the PAI Act. The Regulations regarding the PAI Act published under Government Gazette No 187 of 15 February 2002 set out how the Human Rights Commission should make the Guide Available.

Every request must contain the information set out below, and must correspond with the prescribed form:


• Sufficient particulars of the records required to enable Fortress REIT Limited to identify the record or records and the requester;
• The form of access required;
• A postal address, fax number in South Africa, or an e-mail address;
• Identification of the right that you want to exercise or protect, and an explanation of why the requested record is needed for this purpose;
• The form of reply to your request, other than a written reply, which you prefer, with the relevant particulars;
• Proof of the capacity in which you are acting, if requesting access on behalf of another; and
